The Foundation’s story
The foundation was established to honor Thao (Joe) Nguyen, a sophomore student at Drexel University whose life was cut short on March 3, 2013. She was a multi-talented student who excelled in writing, writing poetry, playing the violin, painting, and blogging about local music bands. Her musical blog can be found here: www.thetinysparrow.blogspot.com Our Mission is to promote awareness of mental illness by advancing educational attainment and research success in discovering new treatment options for mental illness.
Our Approach
To achieve the above mission, we will award scholarships to college bound high school seniors at Loch Raven High school where Joe attended and college students in the U.S. We will strive to serve as a repository of current research on mental illness. We will conduct fundraising throughout the year to sustain the foundation’s activities. If you are interested in making a tax deductible donation, please donate here.
